With a remarkable career spanning over 43 years in the commodity trading sector, our CMD is a law graduate also holding an MBA degree. His association with our company since its inception has been instrumental in achieving sustained growth and establishing our niche position in the Chinese market.
His presence in China played a pivotal role in cultivating strong relationships with steel mills and end-users. He’s been the driving force behind SMCL’s expansion into new commodities and exploration of new geographical areas. With a strategic move to the UK, his focus now lies in strengthening our banking partnerships and expand the base in non-ferrous metals.
Heading the overall management of the company, he leads our business development efforts and trading operations. His visionary leadership, unwavering commitment, and forward-thinking approach have been pivotal in building a cohesive team and a dedicated customer base for our company.
Mr. ALBERTO KUTTEL
Director
He is the recent addition to the Sapphire Minmetals team. With an impressive track record spanning over 40 years in Commodity Trade Finance, Mr. Kuettel brings a wealth of experience to our organization.
Over the last 11 years, he has served as Director in the commodity trade finance department at Société Générale, where he excelled in reaching out to customers and proactively addressing their queries. Mr. Kuettel commenced his professional journey with BNP and subsequently spent several years with UEB and the Credit Suisse group.
Dynamic and highly regarded in the commodities trade finance and banking industry, Mr. Alberto Kuettel is a key driver of growth in the trade finance sector. His expertise and experience will undoubtedly play a significant role in advancing our financial operations.
Ms. XIONG XIN
Director
She is a seasoned professional with over 18 years of experience in the Commodity Industry, particularly within the steel sector, and an extensive background in Insurance Solutions, Credit insurance, and risk management.
Ms. Xin’s impressive career includes serving as a Board advisor, where she provided expertise in structuring and logistics optimization to several steel mills in China. For the past 8 years, she has been an integral part of our organization and now joins us as a Director.
In her role, Ms. Xin is dedicated to introducing innovative approaches to relationship building and enhancing insurance solutions. She collaborates closely with leaders and board members in Chinese steel mills, contributing to strategic planning and expanding structured business with some of the largest Chinese state-owned enterprises and steel mills. Her wealth of experience and expertise are invaluable assets to our team.
